Sexual well-being and virility are essential determinants of quality of life. As men age, sexual dysfunction is growing increasingly more essential. Because this issue is widely talked about in the media, males of all age groups are seeking aid to better their relationships and have a satisfying intimate life. According to estimates, around thirty mln men in the United States are affected by erectile dysfunction. The U.S. FDA has sanctioned only three oral drugs to treat erectile dysfunction: Cialis, Levitra, and Viagra. All work by improving the blood flow to the penis, so that when a male is sexually stimulated, he can get an erection. There are some differences in how long and how rapidly the drug takes effect. Levitra works a bit longer than Viagra. They both take effect in about 30 minutes. Viagra works efficiently for approximately 4 hours, while Levitra for 5 hours. Cialis works a little quicker (in approximately 15 minutes after administration), and the effects last a lot longer - up to 36 hours in some cases. Though each medication has proved highly potent, none is cure-all. Moreover they can lead to problems when interact with other drugs, in particular with nitrate or nitroglycerin coronary medicines, as well as cause more general side effects, such as are pounding headaches, dizziness, dyspepsia, redness in face, neck and/or chest and - in case of Viagra - visual changes. The medicines are contraindicated in males with cardiac problems, inborn malformations of the penis, in males predisposed to extended erections caused by sicklemia, multiple myeloma (a form of cancer), leukemia, liver and kidney problems, in men taking certain medications for HIV, in those over 65, in males having a recent history of a heart attack, stroke or heart rhythm disorder. Deaths have occurred during intimacy in men taking the drugs. Please, speak to your general practitioner before taking the medications. If you are allowed to use one of the medicines, strictly follow the recommended dosage.
